THE COACHING SPACE

I create a personalised and powerful Coaching Space shaped around each Coachee. It is inside this space is where the coaching impact happens.

More About The Coaching Space

THE HEART OF THE COACHING SPACE

COACHING THEMES

I embrace three core coaching themes which filter into the Coaching Space. These themes are led by the Coachee and they provide direction, focus and intention for each coaching session.

  • DEVELOPMENT (Professional & Personal)
  • SELF AWARENESS (Insights & Discovery)
  • OPEN SPACE (Emergent & Reflective)

A session often focuses on more than 1 of these sub themes.

DEVELOPMENT

  • PROFESSIONAL - Development needs shared openly by the Sponsor, plus may include 360° reviews, performance reviews, job specs, performance management, etc. The development needs as identified by the Coachee can be woven into our exploration.
  • PERSONAL - Development needs, real situational examples, stories, challenges, dynamics shared by the Coachee, plus exploration of their feelings, mindset and beliefs around these. The development needs can merge between home and work life.

SELF AWARENESS

  • INSIGHTS - Exploration of how to harness insights for growth of the Coachee (or the Team). This awareness may come from Personality or Psychometric insights tools such as; Myers Briggs (MBTI), Strengths Finder, DISc and Insights, etc.
  • DISCOVERY - Exploration to gain a deeper, richer understanding of the Coachee, who they are, how they feel, how they can harness this for growth. This self-awareness can also be selected from my Discovery Zone themes.

OPEN SPACE (One-to-One clients only)

  • EMERGENT - Enabling a totally open, organic and unstructured coaching space to allow the Coachee to explore. This open space allows them freedom for ideation, safe
  • REFLECTIVE - Enabling a space in which the Coachee can slow down or pause so that they can look back and look forward. The open space allows them time to deeply reflect and use this reflection for strength.

Below summarises a simplistic approach towards a Corporate coaching engagement:

1.     Planning - It starts with an open discussion, during which I explore the business, the people, teams and any thoughts around the desired impact from coaching support.

2.     Proposal - I will then reflect on the needs and in a proposal, I will share my thoughts, costs and recommendations. I encourage Client input, feedback and solution co-creation.

3.     Contracting – If proceeding, parameters are agreed for how the coaching space will be optimised, Coachee engagement, scheduling, confidentiality, administration, invoicing, etc.

4.     Discovery – Prior to One-to-One engagements we often include Sponsor triad discussions. Prior to team coaching sessions, it is likely some form of interviews will be held with each team member.

5.     Sessions – Coaching around the agreed coaching structure, centred around Powerful Conversations to focus on the desired objectives/outcomes as agreed with the Client/Sponsor.

6.     Wrap Up/Feedback – An engagement typically ends the same way in which is started, with a discussion between the Coach and Sponsor/Client. Here progress, achievements, next steps and any further actions are discussed (no Coachee confidentiality is breached by me at any time).
